Bonavista Tools was created by Craig Pearce, a proud Lake Bonavista resident who has experienced firsthand the quiet generosity that makes this neighbourhood special — borrowing a neighbour's drill to hang a picture, or lending out a ladder for an afternoon. Small exchanges, but they matter.
Craig built this site because he believes that sharing tools isn't just practical — it's one of the simplest ways neighbours connect. In a time when community feels harder to come by, knowing the person next door is willing to lend a hand (and a wrench) is something worth nurturing. Community is more important now than ever, and Bonavista Tools is a small attempt to make ours a little stronger.
The site was built and deployed entirely with the help of AI — which was part of the inspiration for the project. Craig wanted to explore what was possible with modern AI tools, and building something genuinely useful for his community felt like the perfect challenge.
Have feedback, a suggestion, or just want to say hello? Craig would love to hear from you — reach out at craigpearce5@gmail.com.
If you find this useful, please share it with your neighbours and encourage them to list their tools. The more people who participate, the more useful — and the more connected — our community becomes. 🏘️
